William M. Rohwer, Sr., 79, of Naplate, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, February 11, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. William Chormann of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A. M. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
He was born September 13, 1937 in Ottawa to Marcus and Theresa (Aldrich) Rohwer. On April 20, 1958 he married Shirley Johnson of Marseilles who survives.
Bill was employed as a carpenter and handyman until his retirement. In retirement, Bill and Shirley owned and operated Gramma's Attic in Ottawa. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts and antiquing.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; his children, Shawn (Marty) Schmitke of Marseilles, Mark (Courtney) of Naplate, Mike of Marseilles, Patty (Bill) Hennessey of Utica, and Dawn (Bob) Evans of Roselle; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Bill) Mason, Jason (Nichole) Rohwer, Erica (Jordan) Roetker, Jordan, Jackie and Josh Schmitke, and Emily Evans; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dale (Sherri) Rohwer of Hartford, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gene and Gerald Rohwer.
