William Edward Peters, Jr., 71, of Triumph, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, January 19 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Hefner of the Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles at a later date. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.

Bill was born on June 24, 1950, in Ottawa, to William Edward Sr. and Lila (Corrie) Peters. In 2001, he married Gail Duffield of Ottawa who survives.

He was employed by Wedron Silica until his retirement. He enjoyed going camping, fishing and watching the Chicago Bears.

Bill is survived by his wife, Gail; his children, William III (Christine) Peters of Marseilles, David (Melissa) Peters of Butternut, WI, and Christina (Scott) Spencer of Marseilles; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Paige, Seth, Zachary, Anthony, and Tasha; eight great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Anne Santoy, Wayne (Debbie) Peters and Lila Mary Self.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John.
