William C. Markut Sr., 79, of Marseilles, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. with Deacon Ron Wackerlin officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

William was born April 13, 1944, in Ottawa, to Michael and Helen (Reed) Markut. On May 7, 1966, he married Juanita Hayn of Pearl, IL who survives.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marseilles. He was employed by IUOE Local #150 for over fifty-five years until his retirement. William enjoyed fishing and attending sporting events with his family.

He is survived by his wife Juanita; two sons, William (Lisa) Markut Jr. of Columbia, TN and Brian Markut of Rawlins, WY; two grandsons, Beau Markut of Orlando, FL and Jacob (Jillian) Markut of Clermont, FL; one great-grandson, Logan Markut; his two brothers, Kenny (Debbie) Markut of Ottawa and Michael (Lynda) Markut Jr. of Clinton; one sister, Susan (Joe) Vittone of Mexico, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
