Wesley E. Ratcliff, 77, of Seneca, passed away Tuesday June 15, 2021 at Morris Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 20 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Peterson of Stavanger Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday prior to funeral services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.

He was born February 9, 1944 in Morris to Clifford and Dorothy (Peacock) Ratcliff. In 1962, he married Janet Hoxsey of Serena. In 2001, he married Dixie Gumm of Seneca who survives.

He had been employed by DuPont for many years, Marseilles Brick Factory, and later by Biewer Lumber until his retirement. He loved to fish and was an avid horseback rider, especially enjoying trail rides with his family and friends.  He was a loyal Fighting Irish sports fan.  Wesley had a passion for gardening and farming, and he raised black angus cattle north of Seneca.

Wesley is survived by his wife Dixie; seven children, Brenda Sheedy of Coal City, Rhonda (Scott) Yetton of Noblesville, IN, Brian Ratcliff of Easton, KS, Dawn (Kevin) Gauntt of TX, Margie Shannon of Streator, Jill (Roger) Conrad of Streator, and Roger Cade of Granville; sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat (Denny) Fosen of Seneca; two nephews, and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
