Wayne L. Tuntland, Sr., 76, of Ottawa, was called home to God Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
Funeral services will be held 11 a. m. Tuesday, March 7 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Reverend Luke Emerson of the Newark Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fox River Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born June 25, 1940 in Ottawa, to Elmer and Stella (Larson) Tuntland. On October 16, 1964, he married Sandra Plique of Marseilles who survives.
Wayne served in the Navy on the USS Macon. He had been employed by International Harvester and he retired from the National Guard armory in Streator. He and Sandra owned and operated the Quick Wash Laundromat and The Upper Room in Marseilles for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; one daughter, Martha (Robert) Newkirk of Seneca; two sons, Wayne Jr and Toby Lee (D.J. Johnson) both of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Cody Tuntland, Robert Wayne Newkirk III, Brendan Bo-Tyler Newkirk and Brianna Belle Newkirk; and one brother, Armon Dean Tuntland of Marseilles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eugene and two sisters, Louis Ronning and Vera Tuntland.
Pallbearers will be Cody Tuntland, Robert and Brendan Newkirk, Jack and Tyler Plique and Brian Plique.
