Walter Schwarz, 79, of Marseilles, formerly of Florida, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 27 at The Praise Center Assembly of God in Ottawa. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements; cremation rites have been been accorded.

Walter was born on July 12, 1945, in the Republic of Peru, to David Lopez and Rosa Schwarz. On September 12, 1996, he married Aida Rodriguez of California who survives.

He was employed as a chef until his retirement, and then he worked for many years for Walmart in Ottawa. He loved to cook for his family, dance, and spend time with his loved ones and friends.

Walter is survived by his wife, Aida, of 39 years; three sons, Karim (Pepsi) Lopez of CA, Boku Lopez of CA, and Dereck Schwarz of HI; his children by marriage, Virginia Layana (William) and her children, Nathaniel, Shawn, and Zander; Steven (Tania) Perez, Jason (Maria) Rodriguez, Eric Romero; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lolo (Lili) Lopez of FL and Willie Lopez of the Republic of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
