Virginia J. Massey, 96, of Ottawa, formerly of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Arrangements are by Seals-Campbell Funeral Home.

Virginia was born September 2, 1920, in Marseilles, to Charles and Lucy (Aimone) Morello. On April 13, 1940 she married William Massey who preceded her in death in 2002.

She was a member of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene. She had worked at Baima's Grocery Store and was a volunteer at NOA for many years.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Billie Jean (Robert) Hammack of Ottawa and Mary Lou (Bruce) Smith of Marseilles; four grandchildren, Allan Hammack, Erica Hepner, Gwen Couch, and Christina Latino; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Bernard Morello.

Memorials may be given to the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene or the family.
