Ted Yates Deal, 81, of Kalamazoo, MI formerly of Marseilles, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 15 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. A home coming service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marseilles First Church of God with Abbey Luka officiating.

Ted attended Anderson University in Indiana. He began his ministry, serving from 1976 to 1978, at Olive Bethel Church of God in Indiana. In 1978, Ted became the head pastor of the Marseilles First Church of God and served nineteen years, before serving in the Maxwell Church of God in Peoria for another nineteen years until his retirement in 2017. He and his wife, Kay, relocated to Kalamazoo to be closer to family while enjoying their retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; his son, Todd his wife Connie Deal of San Diego, CA; two daughters-in-law, Amy Deal-Slage and Jennifer Deal; five grandchildren, Francis Torrijos (Deal), Timothy Deal, Kristina Deal, Malachi Deal, and Levi Deal; and two brothers, Rodney and his wife Alyce Deal and Don and his wife Donita Deal.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Troy Deal.
