Stanley R. Wawerski, Jr., 89, of Marseilles, passed away on Monday August 8, at Pleasant View Luther Home.

Services will be held at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He was born May 28, 1927 in Chicago to Stanley R., Sr. and Nina (Carrier) Wawerski. On June 5, 1976, he married Elizabeth Cunningham of Marseilles who survives.

He served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Marseilles VFW Post # 5506. He was employed by Rock Island Railroad until his retirement. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 960.

Stan is survived by his wife, Betty of Marseilles; one daughter, Chris (Arlie) Boswell of Marseilles; three sons, Ed (Rusti) Rice of Coal City, Stanley R. "Rick" Wawerski, III of Ottawa, and John (Chris) Davis of Magnolia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Carra (Dick) Gram of Marseilles; and one brother Jim (Della) Wawerski of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and William.
