Sandra Ann Tuntland, 75, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Central DuPage Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 a. m. Friday, December 8 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Fox River Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Sandra was born August 29, 1942 in Ottawa, to Leon and Mabel (Goodrich) Plique. On October 16, 1964, she married Wayne Tuntland Sr. of Norway, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2017.
She and Wayne owned and operated the Quick Wash Laundromat and The Upper Room in Marseilles, which provided clothing and necessities to the needy, for over 30 years.
Sandra is survived by one daughter, Martha (Robert) Newkirk of Seneca; two sons, Wayne Jr. and Toby Lee, both of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Cody Tuntland, Robert Wayne Newkirk III, Brendan Bo-Tyler Newkirk and Brianna Belle Newkirk; two sisters, Margaret Plique and Billie Ann (David) McCarty; Sharon Maloney of Streator, who was like a sister; and three brothers, Kenny Plique of Sheridan, Jackie (Helen) Plique of Port Orchard, WA, and Ronnie (Joyce) Plique of Limestone, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband and siblings, Eva Jerde, Leon Plique, Dorothy Wendt, Mildred Dean, John St. Germain, and Adam Plique.
Pallbearers will be Cody Tuntland, Robert and Brendan Newkirk, and Jack, Tyler, Jay, and Brian Plique.
