Roseann Serena

Jun 23, 1952 — Jun 24, 2026

Glendale Heights

Rose, known best as “Auntie Rose” by her niece and nephew, was a loving aunt, talented artist, and friend to many throughout the years. She grew up in Marseilles, IL, and was the first child of Domenic and Gloria Serena. From an early age, her artistic talent was recognized, earning her awards and opportunities to continue pursuing her passion for art.

Throughout her life, Rose continued to follow her love of art through education, ultimately attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. She went on to build a career as a freelance artist, designing playbills, brochures, and stage scenery backgrounds for Goodman Theatre in Chicago. She also worked for various retailers as a display professional and fixture coordinator as well as creating and selling her own artwork.

A lifelong lover of all kinds of art, Rose saw her very first concert in 1966 when she attended the Beatles’ historic performance, a memory cherished by both her and her sister, Pauline. Above all, Rose loved spending time with like-minded, fun-loving people, as well as her beloved pets, Kelly and Molly. Her niece and nephew will remember her for being silly, quick to laugh, and a lover of plants and animals.

She is survived by her sister, Pauline (John “Mark” Kirkton); her niece, Kate (Akash Chaudhry); and her nephew, Nick Kirkton.

A private memorial service will be held by the family. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements and cremation rites.
