Ronald E. Smith, 83, of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Funeral services will be private with Pastor Troy Tvrdil of the Marseilles First Baptist Church officiating. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He was born on March 10, 1936, in Ottawa, to James and Elizabeth (Rossiter) Smith. In 1957, he married Beverly Cupples of Ottawa who survives.

Ronald was a member of the First Baptist Church and was employed by Nabisco until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; one daughter, Denise Smith of Marseilles; two sons, Ronald Jr. (Karen) Smith of Seneca and Rickey Smith of Marseilles; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Donna.
