Obituary

Roland Harry Huss, 84, of Pekin, IL formerly of Marseilles, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Pekin.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 5 at First Baptist Church in Marseilles with Pastor Troy Tvrdik. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p. m. Thursday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Harry was born August 5, 1936 in Ottawa to John and Mary (Haw) Huss. On July 5, 1958, he married Joyce Marie Burrow of Imboden, AR, who preceded him in death in 2019.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Marseilles and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Imboden. He served in the Army Reserves and the National Guard. He was employed by the National Biscuit Company. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loving father and grandfather.

Harry is survived by two sons; David (Angie) Huss of Pekin, IL and Daniel (Laura) Huss of Germantown, TN; and his four grandchildren, Tyler Huss and Eliza Huss, both of Germantown, TN, Caleb Huss of Anamosa, IA, and Leah (Ryan) Casey of Savannah, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; three brothers, Ben, Frank, and John Huss; and three sisters, Isabelle Rivett, Betty Harden, and Velda Shelton.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family to be divided between local charities.
