Robert P. Weatherford, 67, of Gallatin, TN, formerly of Naperville, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

He was born on August 15, 1956, in San Antonio, TX, to James E. and Carolyn (Parker) Weatherford. On May 3, 1980, he married the love of his life Gwendolyn Ann Williams with whom he enjoyed 43 beautiful years of marriage.

Paul was a graduate of Waxahachie High School in 1974 and then earned his bachelor's degree in 1978 while studying accountancy at Baylor University in Waco, TX. He was then employed by Sears Holdings, during which time he earned his certified public accountant license. During his employment, he held various roles until he retired as the director of state tax in 2016. He was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, classic rock music enthusiast, a master of trivia, and a lucky card player and gambler. Paul was a strong family man, who loved his family immensely. His affable charm and jaunty grin could easily light up a room.

Paul's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Gwendolyn; daughter, Lindsey Christine Goldsmith; son in law, Kevin Michael Goldsmith; one granddaughter, Adriella Grace Goldsmith; and a brother-in-law, Steven Neal Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 15101 S 80th Ave Orland Park, on Saturday, November 11, 2023. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
