Robert S. "Sid" Greer, 77, of Marseilles, passed away Monday April 16, 2018.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon Friday April 20, at the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Bill Clark officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the church.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Sid was born August 11, 1940 in Knifley, KY to William Conley and Lorene (Brockman) Greer. In 1962, he married Diane LaRock of Marseilles who survives.

He was a longtime member of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene where he taught Sunday school. He graduated from Marseilles High School in 1959. He was employed by Caterpillar in Aurora until his retirement. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats and Chicago Cubs fan. He was an IHSA Basketball Official for many years and enjoyed bicycling.

Sid is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Brian (Angie) of Shiloh, IL and David (Rhonda) of The Colony, TX; two granddaughters; Allison and Danielle; two sisters, Norma (Bud) Kuhn of Grand Ridge and Laurie (Tom) Goodin of Marseilles; one brother Bill (Pat) Greer of Marseilles; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Leonard; and a sister, Shirley.

Memorials may be given to the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene.
