Obituary

Robert James "Butch" Olsen, 69, of Seneca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Morris Hospital, surrounded by his family after complications from a massive stroke.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 14 at Fat Daddy'z in Seneca. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

He was born on January 14, 1953, in Ottawa, IL, to James and Mabel (Timmons) Olsen.

Butch was employed by Dupont and later by Caterpillar in Aurora until his retirement. He was a member of IBEW Local #145. He enjoyed horseback riding, playing softball, and bowling. Being a passionate outdoorsman, Butch appreciated his time hunting and fishing. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Jerry) Anderson, Kerri (Toby) Overocker, and Craig (Stephanie) Olsen; eight grandchildren, Kohl and Zach Anderson, Kaela, Tyler, and Kaety Overocker, Carter, Anthony, and Gianna Olsen; and his siblings, Beverly (Jim) Clampitt, Cindy (Dave) Bogren, Gene (Kathi) Olsen, and Linda (Terry) Martin.

Butch is survived not only by lifetimes of loving family and friends, but also by generations to come as remembrances of his kindness, sincerity, and humor are reminisced. His memory will continue just as his life did here with us – full of love, affection and appreciation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randy Olsen.
