Robert Parr Hougas, 73, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at OSF. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 17 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Saldano officiating.

Bob was born on June 4, 1952, in Ottawa, to George and Margaret (Parr) Hougas. On November 4, 1972, he married Deborah Cox of Marseilles who survives.

He was employed by LyondellBasel in Morris until his retirement. He was active with the Ottawa River Rescue until his retirement. He enjoyed playing softball and golf.

Bob is survived by his wife, Deb; his two children, Amy (Ed) Stumpf and Rob Hougas, both of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Alayna, Emma, and Ian Stumpf; his siblings, JoEllen McCue and Craig (Cindy) Hougas; a sister-in-law, Laura Hougas; a brother-in-law, Joe Cox; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kent Hougas; and one sister, Marcia Shepherd.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
