Rita (Erickson) Broadus, 85, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be private. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in DeBolt Cemetery.

Rita was born on May 27, 1937, in Ottawa, to Floyd and Florence (DeBolt) Erickson.

She was employed by LOF in Ottawa until her retirement.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry W. Broadus and Randy K. (Kathy) Broadus, both of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Brandy Broadus (Andrew), Brenda Gibson (Richard), and Cody Broadus (Mindee); her great-grandchildren, James (Summer), BrendanRichard, Richard, and Brynlee Gibson, and Todd Broadus-Smith, Jessie Broadus, Katie and Kylee Broadus; her step-grandchildren, McKynna and Lauryn; her great great- granddaughters, Haisley and Addilynn Gibson; her sister, Marilyn Larson; and her sisters-in-law, Maxine and Mary Twait.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Stan and Rodrick Twait, and Joe and Harry Erickson; her sister, Roberta "Bobby" Miller; and her step-father, Marvin Ostrem.

Pallbearers will be James, Brendan, and Richard Gibson, Todd Broadus-Smith, Andy Spaulding, and Cody Broadus.

Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
