Rex A. "Sonny" Olson, Jr., 72, of Marseilles, passed away Friday September 9, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon Tuesday September 13, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Clark and Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Visitation will be from 10 a. m. to 12 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Sonny was born November 1, 1943 in Marseilles, to Rex and Iva (Perkins) Olson. In 2010, he married Debora Surratt of Norway, who survives.

He worked construction for most of his life. He was a volunteer for the Marseilles Ambulance Service. He was a member and president of the Throttle Angels Car Club. He enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, gardening and building things.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Debbie; two daughters, Roxanne Olson Rorah of Westmont and Ann (Denis) Burress of Streator; one son, Robert (Jessica) Olson of Ottawa; three stepchildren, Dan, Cristi and Jeffrey S. Leibold, all of Marseilles; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Carolyn Nelson of Oglesby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Pallbearers will be family.
