Raymond G. Goerres, 77, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Columba Catholic Church in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles.

Ray was born December 22, 1940, in Blue Island, IL to Roy and Elizabeth (Lerner) Goerres. In 1990, he married Lynnea Sehnert of Lemont who survives.

He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and his Catholic faith was a very important part of his life. He was employed by Country Companies as an insurance agent for over twenty years until his retirement. Ray was an avid fan of Norte Dame football and the Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by his wife, Lynnea; his children, Ginger Malone, Michael (Michelle) Nielsen, Joanne (Terry) Waddell, Geoff (Kim) Goerres, Marty (Kristi) Goerres, Andy (Janis) Goerres, Heidi (Nick) Markland, and Josh Goerres; many grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn Curran.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents.
