Obituary

Paul Cox, 88, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, July 26 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles with military honors.

He was born on January 7, 1930, in Ottawa, IL to Gusty and Pearl (Underwood) Cox. In 1949, he married Bernice Perkins of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2014.

Paul served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed by Nabisco for 42 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Marseilles American Legion Post # 235. Paul was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed doing woodworking and crafts. His little Yorkie "Lucy", riding in a basket, accompanied him on many bike rides.

He is survived by one son, Greg (Deb) Cox of Ottawa; one sister, Laura Morrell of Marseilles, one sister-in-law, Phyllis (Dave) Honness; one brother-in-law, Don Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; three sisters, Gladys, Ollie, and Nellie; five brothers, Merle, Vern, Kenny, Rod and Earl; and two sisters-in-law, Glenda and Liz.
