Patricia Ann Schank Smith, 76, of Marseilles, passed away at her home late Thursday evening, January 27, 2022. She was surrounded by her family and her dog, Mimah.

"Patti" was born on November 13, 1945 to Bernell "Nick" and Verda Belle (Enockson) Schank.

She is survived by her husband, Fletcher Thomas Smith; her sons, Dean Derrick and Fletcher Jason Smith and her daughter, Andrea Heeps. She is the proud grandmother of Tara Orlikowski, Katie Schult, Dean "Beamer" Brandon, Fletcher Thomas, and Chelsea Ann Smith, and Thomas Hunter and John Maximus Heeps. She is also blessed with four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Charles Blue and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Woller) Schank, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will be welcomed home by her mother and father, Nick and Verda Schank; her brother, Alfred "Nick" Schank; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fletcher Richard and Georgiana R. (Renz) Smith; her brother-in-law, Richard Smith; and her sisters-in-law, Carol Hicks and Judy Blue.

Fletcher and Patti were married at the Marseilles Methodist Church on June 4, 1966.  Together, they were active members of their community and church. She worked as the Director of the Marseilles Chamber of Commerce and was the first female mayor of Marseilles. Patti will be remembered for the endless contributions she made for her hometown and the people who live there; she passionately loved them both.

A private service will be held at the Marseilles United Methodist Church with Rev. Megan Thompson officiating. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Seals-Campbell Funeral Home.
