Orval L. "Butch" Marshall Jr., 75, of Marseilles, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Goldwater Care in Marseilles.

Per Butch's request, services will be private. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation rites.

He was born on July 11, 1949, in Richland Center, WI, to Orval L. Sr. and Juanita (Clary) Marshall. On February 8, 1969, he married Carol Stumpf at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Dzielak officiating.

Butch was a graduate of Marengo High School. He was employed by Chrysler, Arnold Engineering, and then drove truck until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol; his son, Orval III "Sam" (Allison) Marshall; his grandchildren, Lyle (Claudia) Marshall, Danielle Marshall, Ren (Cameron) Marshall, Steve Casey, and Allison Schwartz; his great-grandchildren, Alannah Casey, Skyler Casey, Rose Whitecotton, Nevaeh Casey, and Aubree Senisais; his sister, Starleta Garlick of PA; his sister-in-law, Kathy Marshall of AZ; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nieces, and nephews.

Butch was preceded in death by his son, Brian; daughter-in-law, Sherri Marshall; his parents, Orval Sr. and Juanita Marshall; his brothers, Bill and Dennis Marshall; his brother-in-law, Byron Stumpf; his niece, Nicole "Nikki" Stumpf; and his nephew, Eric Brinkmeyer.
