Michael Crawshaw, 75 year old resident of Marseilles, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 18th, 2018 at 1:00 a.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at Marseilles United Methodist Church with Reverend Kihwan Choi of the Marseilles United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. A memorial luncheon will be held at the Marseilles United Methodist Church following graveside services.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles, Illinois.

He was born July 10th, 1942 in Ottawa, Illinois to Clyde and Margaret (McAfee) Crawshaw. In 1968, he married Dee Ann Mooneyham of Marseilles, IL.

Mike graduated from Marseilles High School in 1960, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Illinois State University. Upon graduation, he taught at Glen Ellyn Junior High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and in 1969 began teaching at Shepherd Junior High School in Ottawa, Illinois. He received his Masters in Science at Illinois State University in 1971. After his retirement, he taught part time at Ottawa High School in the Math Department and later at Marquette High School.

He was a member of the Marseilles United Methodist Church where he served on various committees, in the church choir, and served as lay leader for many years. Mike did mission work with the Disaster Recovery Response Teams traveling to New Orleans, LA, Joplin, MO, and Oakville, IA.

Mike was very active as a volunteer at OSF Healthcare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. He drove the Care-a Van, was an Escort Volunteer, an Auxiliary Board Member, and on the Patient/Family Advisory Council. He also worked the Red Cross Blood Drives at OSF. He also served on the Marseilles Nursing Service Board.

Mike was interested in local history and represented the City of Marseilles for the I&M Canal Sesquicentennial Celebration and was a volunteer at the Seattle Sutton Marseilles Museum.

Mike is survived by his wife, Dee; his mother-in-law, Lucille Mooneyham; two sons, Brad Crawshaw of Wauwatosa, WI and Rob Crawshaw of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Carson and Campbell (Brad), and Jon and Charlie (Rob); one brother, Ted (Diane) Crawshaw of Aurora, IL; and sisters-in-law, Cathy (Joe) Rix of Champaign, IL, and Sally (Rob) Maierhofer of Seneca, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Margaret (McAfee) Crawshaw and father-in-law, Ennis Mooneyham.

Pallbearers will be his nephews and nieces, Matt (Amberley) Maierhofer, Michael (Liz) Maierhofer, Molly (Nick) Kaminski, Mark (Melissa) Rix, Lisa (Rick) Vincent, Michael (Joan) Crawshaw, Susan Crawshaw, and honorary pallbearers will be, Sheila Ballen, Jason (Jen) Rix, and Jennifer (Neal) Rosengren.
