Melvin Dwight "Bruce" Bauswell, 75, of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his home.

Visitation will be for 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov 16, 2024 at the Marseilles First Baptist Church in Marseilles. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Troy Tvrdik officiating. Cremation rites and arrangements were entrusted to Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles.

Bruce was born on February 22, 1949 in Hinsdale, IL to Melvin and Geraldine (Greenwood) Bauswell. On July 1, 2005, he married Nancy Davis of Lockport, IL who survives.

He was employed as a cook, mechanic, truck driver, welder, and a tanker trailer fabricator until his retirement. After his retirement he enjoyed working at Meals on wheels for many years. Bruce had a heart of gold, he would help anyone that he could. He was a loving husband, father and cherished his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Nancy; a son, Jack (Susan) Bauswell; a daughter, Jennifer (Marcus Richie) Foster; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Borse.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
