Margerite L. Hannes, 98, of Oswego, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Sunrise at Fountain Square in Lombard, IL.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow at 3 p.m. with Deacon Ron Wackerlin officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Margerite was born on February 21, 1928 in Marseilles, IL, to Omer and Myrtle (Mills) Brockman. On July 16, 1949, she married John S. Hannes of Chicago who preceded her in death in 2009.

Margerite is survived by her five children, Steven (Karen) Hannes, Karen (Paul) Dell, John M. Hannes, Dan (Sandi) Hannes, and Jim Hannes; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Ann (Peter) Morello, Carolyn (Leslie) Latimer, and Imogene Seaborn.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; and her siblings, Gustie Waggoner, Lois Williamson, and Paul, Kenneth, and Glenn Brockman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Hospice.
