Margaret M. Akins, 83, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Aperion Care Center.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at funeral home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Margaret was born on September 16, 1938 in Marseilles, to Charles and Frances (Field) Thomas.

She had been employed by One Hour Martinizing and Blackley Cleaners until her retirement.

Margaret is survived by her brother, LeRoy Thomas of Marseilles, two granddaughters, Melissa (David) McAlister of Missouri and Renae White of Streator; four great-grandchildren, Devin, Jake, Izick, and Annagail; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including Kim and Mike Thomas; and her daughter-in-law, Leslie Gingery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Akins; her sons, Jerry and Wade Gingery, and six brothers.
