Louis B. "Lou" Macchietto, 92, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his home.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Kihwan Choi of the Marseilles United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will follow services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date,

Louis was born on August 13, 1925, in Marseilles, to John and Lucy (Cole) Macchietto.  In 1964, he married Carol Ingmanson of Marseilles, who survives.

He served in the Merchant Marines in WWII and was a member of the Marseilles American Legion Post #235. Before his service time he worked on barges on the river and after he was employed by Libbey Owens Ford for 35 years until his retirement.

Lou is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Carla Macchietto of Marseilles; and one brother, John Macchietto of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ricky, and a son in infancy; two brothers, Reynold "Fosto" and Joe Macchietto; and one sister, Jeanie Hicks.

Memorials may be given to the Marseilles Nursing Service or the Marseilles

United Methodist Church.
