Edmond LeRoy Forth, 91 of El Cajon, CA, formerly of Marseilles, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA.
A celebration of life will be held on July 18, 2026 at Seals-Campbell Funeral home in Marseilles. Visitation will be 2 to 4 pm with the service to follow and military honors. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in the Sheridan Cemetery in Illinois at a later date.
LeRoy was born on January 10, 1934, in Miller Township, to Edmond John and Ethel Mae (Nelson) Forth. On October 2, 1955, he married Dorothy Patricia Hogue of Marseilles, who preceded him in death in 2016.
LeRoy served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed by Caterpillar Inc. for a number of years. He owned and operated Fox Valley Tire and Appliance and Forth Trenching and Excavating in Marseilles. He retired to Santee, CA, in 1995, where he enjoyed time with his family and friends. He was always willing to help anyone. He loved going back to Illinois to participate in the family fishing adventures. He continued to ride his Can-Am Spyder motorcycle with his friend, Howard, until just recently. He has always been a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Curtis (Laurie) Forth of Marseilles; his daughter, Denise (John Craig) Meile of Lakeside, CA; his daughter-in-law, Wendy Forth of Peoria, AZ; six grandchildren, Jackie (Pat) Tomassi and Alex (Torri) Forth of Winter Garden, FL., Jessica Smith and Ryne (Kelsey) Forth of Marseilles, Caitlin (TJ) McAllister of Crest, CA and Micaela (Steven Lounsbury) Meile of Lakeside, CA; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Juanita) Forth of Serena; his special partner, Barbara Clayton of El Cajon, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; one son, Lee Allen Forth; and two brothers, Jack and Roger Forth.
