LaRora "Bunny" Sarles Berge, 79, of Ottawa, formerly of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. There will be no funeral or burial, however a marker has been placed near her parents at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa to memorialize a life well lived.

Bunny was born LaRora Marvel Gleason on September 30, 1937 in Marseilles, to James "Art" and Linda (Truffa) Gleason. On April 15, 1953, she married Donald Sarles of Ottawa with whom she had five children. Later, in 1974. she was married to Craig Berge.

After the birth of four of her children, she finished and graduated from Marseilles High School and after her fifth child, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University. She was employed as a lab technician by Ottawa Silica and then by GE Plastics until her retirement in 1998.

Bunny is survived by three daughters, Jayme (David) Cook of Marseilles, Patti (Millege) Hart of Atherton, Cal., and Tracee (Mike) Kascak of Charlestown, Ind.; one son, Don (Donna) Sarles of Ottawa; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two step-sisters, Wanda Grotti and Ina Raub.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dean Sarles; two brothers, Paul and James Gleason; her step-mother, Georgia Gleason and her beloved cat, Muffin.
