Marseilles
Kenneth A. Holcomb, 76, of Grand Ridge, went to meet Jesus Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, December 15 at the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Reverend Bill Clark officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Marseilles Honor Guard. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ken was born September 20, 1945, in Morris, IL, to Joel and Frances (Slone) Holcomb. In 1999, he married Delia Pommier of Ottawa who survives.
He was a member of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 and was stationed in Germany. Ken and his family were all bus drivers at one time. He was employed as a correctional officer at Stateville Correctional Center until his retirement.
Ken is survived by his wife of 22 years, Delia, the love of his life, caretaker and best friend; one son, Stephen Holcomb of NC; two daughters, Cindy Madonna of Peoria and Sherry (Larry) Hendricks of AL; two step-sons, Jeremey Rosales, his right hand man, and Charles Sellers, both of Streator; one step-daughter, Amber Sellers of LaSalle; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lisa Holcomb, at the age of five; and two brothers, Don and Paul.
Ken truly loved his lord and savior Jesus Christ, his pastor, Bill Clark, and his church family. In his younger days, he enjoyed running and playing basketball. He was a diehard Cubs fan, and enjoyed college football. He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and loved ringing the bell at Handy Foods. He liked playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and especially watching Colombo say "Just one more thing."
These words were written by myself, Kenneth A. Holcomb.
