Kathleen Ball, 77, of Seneca, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Ottawa Pavilion.

Services were private with Pastor Shawn Saldano of the Marseilles United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Maxton and Woodside Cemetery in Brookfield Township.

Kathy was born on October 6, 1948, in Maywood, IL, to Thomas and Bertha (Vandevoorde) Butts Jr. On September 6, 1975, she married Kenneth Ball of Seneca who survives.

She was employed by Kroger in Morris, Streator, and Ottawa in the deli department for 37 years until her retirement. She loved to bake and was best known for her cookies. Kathy also loved fishing. For over 30 years, she enjoyed going on yearly fishing trips with her family and friends to Minnesota. Traveling across country was also a fun pastime for her and Ken.

Kathy is survived by husband, Ken; her son, Craig Michael Ball; her grandson, Graydon Ball; her sisters, Judy (Larry) Clinton, Diane (Lewey) Brown, and Denise (Jeff) Butts; and her brother, Steve (Susan) Butts.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her grandson's education fund.
