Kary W. Mcemery's Obituary
Kary W. McEmery, 58, of Marseilles, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Kary was born on June 29, 1959, in Peru, to Albert and Edith Maxine (Collard) McEmery. On September 18, 1982, he married Leesa Caffee of Ottawa, who survives.
He was employed by Local 11 Roofer's Union, was a member of Sandy Ford Sportsman's Club and Marseilles Muzzle Loading Association, and active in Labor of Love. He was always available to help any family or friends who called for help.
He was loved by all and disliked by no one, he worked hard to provide for anyone who needed it. He'd shovel your driveway, help fix your car, patch your roof, or just sit and keep you company over a pot of coffee or two. He had a tough and rugged exterior but on the inside he was soft as can be. There's no doubt he will be missed by everyone that ever knew him, and those lucky enough to know him will definitely take away a valuable lesson in helping others any way that they can, even if it's just by getting your hands dirty. Kary; the friend, the father, the son, the brother, and grandpa will be greatly missed.
Kary is survived by his wife, Leesa; two daughters, Leslie (Keith) Fessler and Malorie (Zachary) Kueteman, both of Ottawa; three sons, Kary W. (Andrea) McEmery Jr. of Nashua, NH, Lucas (Megan) McEmery of Chicago, and Timothy (Jean) McEmery of Marseilles; his mother, Edith Maxine McEmery of Marseilles; four grandchildren, Landyn McEmery, Noah Ahrens, Liam Ahrens, and Maxx Fessler plus Jameson Kueteman who is due in May; three sisters, Kathy (Roy) Delagarza of Channahon, Karen (Ron) Leiteritz of Ottawa, and Krista (Mike) Casey of Washington State; and one brother, Michael (Dawn) McEmery of Marseilles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert; his step-mother, Sandra McEmery; and his brother, Bruce McEmery.
