Julie Petre, 77, of Marseilles, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria with her loving family by her side.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 11 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at the 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Nicolas Wilson officiating.

She was born on November 22, 1948, in Ottawa, to Greg and Marie (Hellman) Lamb. On July 7, 1968, she married Orwin Petre of Marseilles, who preceded her in death in 1996.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Julie served as a Boy Scouts Leader. She was also a beautician and lunch lady at Marquette Academy for over 25 years until her retirement.

Julie is survived by her daughter, LuAn (Chris Swayne Sr.) Petre; three grandchildren, Haley (Savannah) Petre-McKinney, Felicia Skalnik, and Christopher Swayne Jr.; her sister, Patricia Frederick; and her two nieces, Rhonda Fox and Christine Jumper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orwin; her son, Leo Petre; her brother, Bernie Lamb; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Muncy.
