Joseph Paul Cook, 83, of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Ottawa Pavilion.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles, IL. A celebration of life will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Joe was born on October 18, 1939, in Adrian, MN, to Mathias and Apollonia (Roeder) Cook. He married Tina Swartwood who preceded him in death in 1979. Later he was married to Lois Fox.

Joe was employed by East Texas Motor Freight, and then by Farm & Fleet in Ottawa for over 12 years until his retirement. He loved photography, riding motorcycles, and his dogs, Bennie 1 and Bennie 2. He enjoyed his time helping at the Norsen farm in his retirement.

Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Paul Cook Jr. of Georgia, and Catherine (Joe) Martin of Oswego; three grandchildren, Shannon Cook of Willowbrook, Daniel Martin of Quincy, and Amber (Jeff) Russo of Chicago; three great-grandchildren, Emily Cook, Alayna "Lainey" Martin, and Adam Martin; his siblings, Judy (Lowell) Reese of IA, Jo Ann (Chuck) Peters of MN, and Richard (Jodi) Kramer of ID; and his best friend, Steve (Linda) Norsen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mathias Cook; his mother, Apollonia Kramer; his step-father, Joseph T. Kramer; his wife, Tina Cook; a grandson, Joseph Paul Cook III; and two siblings, Maurice Cook and Arlene Thomas.
