John R. Edgren, 75, of Seneca, passed away peacefully Monday March 19, 2018, at his home.

Services will be at a later date.

John was born February 12, 1943, in St. Paul, MN, to Robert E. and Charlotte (Anderson) Edgren.  John was a devoted husband of Lisa Marie Andrea, the love of his life, with whom he had been married for 10 years.

John lived at and was employed by Little City Foundation in Palatine, IL, for 35 years, developing a skill in landscaping.  He was the senior member of a crew there that was responsible for the maintenance of the grounds in their usual pristine condition.  He served in that role until his retirement in 2008.  It was at Little City that John and Lisa met and fell in love.  They attended the First Baptist Church in Coal City.

John was a hard worker, and was always willing to help a friend or neighbor that was in need.  Always a fan of the "good guy", John was a big fan of John Wayne films.  His skilled hand with living things was apparent at his home where the summer display of flowers in his yard bordered on spectacular; he genuinely appreciated their beauty.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Marie Andrea; one sister, Ann; and a cousin, Blair Anderson of Spring Green, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jane Gwizdala.

Memorials may be given to Special Olympics, in which both John and Lisa participated, or Little City Foundation in Palatine, IL.
