Joel T. Binion, 31, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.


Joel was born April 1, 1986, in Sandwich, to Butch Binion and Joanne Bayer Binion (Tim Vignali).

He graduated from Serena High School and attended IVCC. He was an avid tech person and gamer. He loved to skate board and enjoyed music.

Joel is survived by his fiancée, Sophia Smith Flores; two daughters, Zoey Binion and Lauren Smith; one son, Andrew Smith; his mother, Joanne (Tim Vignali) Binion of Ottawa; his father, Butch Binion of Tennessee; his grandmother, Hope Schlappi; one brother, Brandon (Myria) Haff of Ottawa; his nieces, Katlyn, Lauren, and Brooklyn; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.



He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Betty Bayer and Harry Binion Sr.
