JoAne Marie Engel, 65, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with her brother, Sam Baratta officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date.

She was born June 24, 1951 in Ottawa. In 1983, she married Nicholas Engel of Ottawa who survives.

She had been a waitress at the Highway and the Oasis restaurants and had been a Union laborer. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and helping other people.

She is survived by her husband, Nick; one daughter, Anita Engel of Ottawa; two sons, Scott (Dena) Engel of Poway, CA and Jacob (Nicole) Engel of Ottawa; her step-children, Kelly (Tim) Angell of Minnesota, Michelle (Shawn) Sauvageau of Naplate, Nick Engel of Minnesota, and Trisha (Kevin) Mattingly of Ottawa; 19 grandchildren, Cory, Joshua, Olivia, Shawn, Dylan, Evan, Gavin, Charlee, Gunner, Noah, Ryan, Joe, Jordan, Brandon, Leanna, Cassie, Andrew, Jake, and Abbie; two sisters, Grace Watland of Ottawa and Christine Baratta of Mendota; and one brother, Samuel Baratta of Peru.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gloria Johnson.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Pallbearers will be Cory, Joshua, Shawn, Andrew, Jake, Jordan, and Brandon.
