Jo Ann Lynn Duffy, 77, of Seneca, passed with her family at her side early Wednesday morning, December 23, 2020 after showing such strength battling Parkinson's Disease for over twelve years.

Visitation with social distancing will be Saturday, December 26 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. David Daniel officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in Frankfort Township, IL.

Jo Ann was born September 22, 1943, in Joliet, to Joseph and Lillian (Hellmuth) Heim of Mokena, IL. Over time, Jo Ann resided in Joliet, Elwood, and Seneca, IL.

She is survived by her husband, John; her son, Brian; two daughters, Bridget (Steven) Thorpe and Erin (Nick) Walsh; and her three grandchildren, Spencer and Ellie Thorpe, and Owen Walsh.

Jo Ann was immensely proud and extremely dedicated to her family. Family was her world. She never missed anything, always supporting and making sure her children were doing the things they dreamed of. She loved all holidays and decorating for each was a must. As time passed, her independence was taken but not her love for family and decorating. With a vision in mind while humming a tune, she would set out to work. She was a lipstick, weekly appointments for her hairdo, and earrings loving lady, and she didn't feel complete without all three. Wearing her heart on her sleeve and giving everything she had to you was how she lived and loved.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Jo Ann and provided her comfort. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles.
