Jay Duane Nicholson, 54, of Austin, TX, formerly of Marseilles, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at his home.

A memorial service will be 11 a. m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles, together with his mother's funeral. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home.

Jay was born November 10, 1962 in Ottawa, to Darrell and Carol (Sinkes) Nicholson.

He was a devoted employee of Marek Brothers Design for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. His sense of humor enlightened all who knew and loved him.

Jay is survived by one sister, Elizabeth "Libby" (Michael) Clements of Ottawa; three brothers, Michael (Shirley) of Conroe, TX, Steve of Marseilles, and David (Jody) of Humble, TX; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his mother who joined them four days later.
