Obituary

Janice K. (VanNorman) Osborne, 88, of Marseilles, IL, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Janice was born on January 24, 1937, in Ottawa, IL, to John and Mayme (Lewis) VanNorman. A graduate of Marseilles High School, she later completed her business education at Joliet Junior College. In December 1956, she married the love of her life, Gary Osborne, and together they built a legacy rooted in faith, family, and service.

A devoted Christian, Janice lived her life guided by her deep faith. She dedicated 25 years of her professional life as a secretary at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, where her warmth, professionalism, and compassion touched the lives of many.

Janice loved to travel and enjoyed the simple pleasure of dining out, often turning meals into memorable moments with those she loved. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, she was known around town for her spirited jumps off the high board at the Marseilles public pool—cheered on by many for her fearless joy and enthusiasm.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Gary Osborne; two sons, Van (Diana) Osborne of Niceville, FL, and Bryan (Adela) Osborne of Buda, TX; four cherished granddaughters, Ashley (Ron) Miljkovich, Felicia Dehmlow, Vanessa (Perry) Milton, and Rebecca (Matthew) Russell; and seven great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mayme VanNorman.

Janice's legacy of faith, laughter, and love will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.  At her request, no services will be held. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements and cremation rites.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View Lutheran Home, LaSalle County Nursing Home, and OSF Hospice for their warm and dedicated care.
