Janet Fern Steele, 68, of Ottawa, formerly of Cadiz, KY, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born June 18, 1950, in Ottawa, to Carl and Jane (Applebee) Wise. In 1969, she married Donald Eiben of Marseilles.

Janet graduated from Seneca High School in 1968. She worked at the Morris paper mill for 10 years, she then started her cleaning business in West Chicago where she cleaned residences and businesses for many years. She loved animals, no stray was ever left behind. She also enjoyed her home and her gardens. Janet also had a strong faith and loved God, she read from her bible every day. She has left an empty place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one son, Don Jr. (Petra) Eiben of Cadiz, KY; three grandchildren, Michael, Gracie, and Brianna; two sisters, Judith Brown of Marseilles and her twin, Jeanne (Ron) Chismarick of Ottawa.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
