James Roger Vangelisti, 82, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 17 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Clark of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles with military honors.

Jim was born on September 25, 1941, in Ottawa, to Joseph and Ruth (Spencer) Vangelisti. On February 20, 1970 he married Juanita Arnold of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2022.

Jim served in the Army and was employed by Nabisco until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Rodney (Denise), Darcy (Daniel) Rub, and Jimmy (Janet Oneby), all of Marseilles; nine grandchildren, Justin, Nicole and Cassie Vangelisti, Serena Rogers, Spencer Armstrong, and Thea, Olivia, Joseph, and Lucy Vangelisti; and nine great-grandchildren, Landon, Aubrey, Aria, Jemma, Hayzleigh, Jace, Lennox, Amelia, and Lincoln.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; his parents; two grandchildren, Megan and Tommi Vangelisti; and his brother, Ronald Vangelisti.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy, Rodney, Justin, Joseph, and Landon Vangelisti, and Dan Rub.
