James Evan Mooneyham, Sr., 77, loving husband and father, passed away on Monday April 18, 2022 at his family home in Marseilles, IL with his loved ones by his side.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Duane Kaufman and Pastor Megan Thompson of the Marseilles United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors will follow. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date.
Jim was born May 25, 1944, in Ottawa, to James T. and Marian (Dinelli) Mooneyham. On August 7, 1981, he married Jill Robinson Hicks of Serena.
Jim was a proud US Marine Corp Veteran, Sergeant of C Battery 2 nd Laam Battalion. He was a Life Member of the Marseilles VFW Post #5506, Marseilles American Legion Post #235 and served on the Marseilles Honor Guard. He was a member of the Marseilles United Methodist Church.
Jim retired in May 2006 from Chicago Local Union 597 Steamfitters and Pipefitters. After retiring he enjoyed morning coffee and eating out with friends, veterans and retirees, traveling to see his children and RV camping trips with his wife, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jill; his daughter, Amy (Tony) Krause of Marseilles; his sons, James and Christopher, both of Florida, Charles (Jon) of Missouri, and Joseph (Kristi) Hicks of Georgia; twelve grandchildren, James, Mavrick, Christopher, and Travis Mooneyham, Jacob and Madison Lowery, Wyatt Krause, Login Robbins, Nathan, Felicity, Abagail and Sofia Hicks; one brother, David (Kathleen) Mooneyham of Marseilles; his sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Phil) Edgcomb and Linda Robinson; one brother-in-law, Chris (Lisa) Robinson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Floyd; his sister, Doreen Van Cleave; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Van Cleave and Craig Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in his name to the Marseilles Nursing Service or Marseilles United Methodist Church.
