James A. Sluder, 54, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 2 nd at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
James was born January 18, 1965, in Ottawa, to James "Billy" and Doris (Janke) Sluder. On May 8, 2017, he married Brooke Close of Marseilles who survives.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and fireworks. He also had a passion for Corvettes and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.
James is survived by his wife Brooke; three daughters, Raven (Mitchell) Cox of Las Vegas, Regan Humble of LaSalle, and Megan Humble of Marseilles; seven grandchildren; one sister, Dawn (Shawn) Macchietto of Morris; aunts and uncles, Sal Tucker of Marseilles, Barbara (Curt) Norman of Winthrop Harbor, Carl Sluder of Marseilles, Ed (Sue) Janke of Seneca and Joan Kleckner of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth "Buck Stew" and Doris Johnson, and James "Billy" Sluder; and one nephew, Ryan Sluder.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde and Dave Bell, Ronnie Littlefair, Mike Costin, Tim Allen, and Stephen Peterson.
