James Robert McCale, 67, of Marseilles, formerly of Chicago, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

James was born May 29, 1952 in Morgantown, WV to Claude Andrew "Buzz" and Anne Helen (Sulka) McCale.  He was married to Wanda Schuck.

Jim served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Coilplus Inc. in Des Plaines as a traffic manager until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and reading and always wanted to write a book about monsters. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group. James was a die-hard biker, who put more miles on his motorcycle than his other vehicles. Most of all, he loved driving through open country on his Harley and listening to country music.

James is survived by his son, Claude McCale of Wilmington; one sister, Mary Abbati of Brookfield, IL; one brother, Buzz (Theresa) McCale of Erwin, TN; his dog, Chaos; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
