James R. Hogue, 90, of Marseilles, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Pavilion of Ottawa.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Shawn Saldano officiating. Burial will be in Nichol Cemetery in Marseilles.

Jim was born on April 7, 1935, to Frank and Pearl (Olson) Hogue. While growing up he helped his "Uncle" Gus on his farm north of Marseilles, where he came to value hard work, an ethic that stayed with him throughout the years.

He was employed by Nabisco until his retirement. Then he enjoyed helping his family on the farm for many years after that. Jim could draw you in with his animated stories. He was a man of varied interests and hobbies including gardening, woodworking, playing the guitar, working on old tractors, doing jigsaw puzzles, visiting with his neighbors, and dancing. He also loved working on his vintage cars, his Jeep Willys, and his old Cadillac.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Terri (Gene) Feely; a son, Michael (Tamara) Hogue; a son-in-law, Marty Myre; his stepchildren, Pamela Lauffer and William (Lydia) Foutch; three grandchildren, Cara (Glenn) Manning, Martin James Myre and Jillian Wawerski; several step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; Pearl, Bode, and Gus Manning.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arliss; his daughter, Cathi Myre; two stepsons, Sam Foutch and Robert Foutch; one grandson, Fletcher Bodnar; three sisters, Frances Chapman, Betty Wilson, and Mary Johnson; and one brother, Fred Hogue.
