James Edward Roe, 82, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Rivershores Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre.

Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Jim was born December 13, 1934, in Ottawa, to James R. and Nora (Gash) Roe. In 1954, he married Stella Vangelisti of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 1996.

He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1952. Jim was co-owner of Roe Aluminum Company, Commercial Street Marseilles, with his father until his retirement.

Jim is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Les) Stahl of Manistique, MI; one son, John (Donna) Roe of Marseilles; four grandchildren, Bill and Tom Foster, James Roe, and Jennifer McCaque; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Roe Stone of Rockdale, Judith (Jim) Mosier of Manistique, MI and Nancy (David) Andersen of Soldotna, Alaska; and two brothers, Thomas (Allie) Roe of Bureau Junction, IL and Henry (Miriam) Roe of Marseilles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stella; and three sisters, Patricia Ann Roe in infancy, Ruth Garrison, and Marjorie (Art) Angell.

Memorials may be given to the Marseilles Area Ambulance Service or the Marseilles Nursing Service.
