James D. Boldt, 79, of Marseilles, IL, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at The Arc in Streator.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with Pastor Arlene Jackson officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Marseilles American Legion Honor Guard at the funeral home following services. Burial will be in Section Cemetery in Miller Township.

James was born on September 1, 1946, in Morris, IL, to Clyde and Margaret (Hayer) Boldt. On August 23, 1971, he married Cheryl Latty of Oglesby who survives.

Jim served in the Army Corps of Engineers and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of the Marseilles American Legion Post #235, a member of the Marseilles VFW Post #5506, and was active on the honor guard. He was employed as a registered land surveyor until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son, Matthew (Robyn) Boldt; his daughter, Elizabeth (Nathan) Lesman; his two granddaughters, Ariana and Cora; a sister, Joanne (Francis) Kasten; and a brother, David (Cindy) Boldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jason Boldt; and two brothers, Ronald and Gordon Boldt.
