Hazel Marie Towne, 80, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at her home.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon Thursday, June 28, at Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa with Rev. Sherry Stevenson officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 26, 1937, in Liberty, KY to Jenny Murphy. In 1973, she married George Towne of Aurora, who preceded her in death in 2010.

Hazel was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed flowers, crafts, gatherings with her family and friends, and her Lord.

Hazel is survived by four daughters, Penny Angel of Ottawa, Kathleen Rainbolt of Vanndale AR, Roberta (Ron) Crabbe of Marseilles, and Terry Sartori of MO; two sons, Byron "Butch" Angel Jr. of Sandwich and Jimi Angel of Ottawa; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn McIntosh of KY; and one brother, Kenneth (Candy) King of KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, two grandchildren, Joshua and Jammie; one great-grandson, Austin; three step-sons, Dana Towne, Micah Towne, and Edward Towne and one step-daughter Georgia Towne.

Memorials may be directed to the family or the charity of the donor's choice.
